Q Reviews: "Classic Army... Good from Afar?"
We've completed our latest review, "Classic Army... Good from Afar?" that explains the techincal merits and flaws of the Yick Fung's
Classic Army line of AEGs and Tokyo Marui guns they copied.
"The Japanese companies who originally designed the guns focused on technical design and attention to realism, while Chinese imitations are driven by capital gain and the desire to sell as many units as possible with the least amount of effort. This is clearly seen in the fact that the engineers of Japan are credited for creativity with their reliable gearbox platform. This article will support that TM’s M4 lives up to its specifications as was designed. And that CA’s M15A4 with similar features is not a purchase advantage even with its enhancements and additional velocity (320fps). However it is clear that these were added as a means to gain a competitive edge on paper to get a share of the market."

Custom Gallery Updates
Every once in a while, we'll do something that's just cool. Taking one of our favorite models and doing a few
cosmetic swaps makes for a pair of guns that just makes you drool.
To make the guns special, a few subtle changes have been made. For example, the magazine release button on
the gun with the black slide has been reversed, to be used in the left hand.
Aside from that, there's a few other new items in the Handguns section, and a new Consignment guns section, think
of it like those pre-owned certified cars you see for sale.

Tokyo Marui M1911A1 Review
The long awaited techical review of Tokyo Marui's latest handgun, the M1911A1.
"Japanese companies have produced some solid components using both steel and
aluminum with newly released anodized and polished precision inner barrels. Breaking
away from tradition in style we modified to fit and installed parts onto a nicely
casted parkerized style slide and frame set. Fittings have never been simple for
matching select parts from two or more manufacturers, but our skilled craft in pistol
work usually are quite successful as in this case.
Using a gunsmith's mill, polishing wheel, and a few precision tools for creating
.001mm tolerances a glass-like finish for slide and frame components was achieved; always
a crucial factor to allow for crisp blowback action and racking of slide. Getting rid of
as much friction in the system is the goal to ensure uninhibited blowback and consistent
muzzle velocity."

Q's TM MP7 PDI Upgrade
"The Tokyo Marui MP7, released in Q1 2006 is the largest Air Electric Pistol (AEP) to date.
It uses a similar gearbox to the other AEPs with four gears and a scaled down piston, motor
and other gearbox components. For this upgrade, we decided to go mostly with PDI's line of
parts for the MP7 and AEP series."
